The Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) has partnered with rePurpose Global, the world’s leading plastic action platform. Together, we’re launching Plastic Recovery July, a campaign to recover 250,000 pounds of nature-bound plastic, and build momentum for long-term, systemic change across the pet industry.
rePurpose Global operates a worldwide network of high-impact projects that:
- Recover plastic that would otherwise pollute nature
- Build recycling infrastructure where it’s needed most
- Empower communities, especially the 10,000+ workers who make this work possible
Since their founding in 2016, they’ve recovered over 77 million pounds of plastic.
What does plastic recovery mean?
While going completely plastic-free isn’t yet feasible for many in our industry, we’re redefining the widely known “Plastic Free July” to “Plastic Recovery July” to reflect what’s possible now. By focusing on plastic recovery, especially as our members transition toward recyclable packaging, we’re taking one of the most immediate and measurable actions to reduce our environmental footprint and accelerate industry-wide impact.
